Happy New Year to everyone! We hope that 2008 is a great year for all.
It is truly hard to believe that a year ago Zac and I were just getting engaged!
We didn't end up getting to go to Texas at all for Christmas :(, but we did enjoy spending the holidays with our Navy family here in NH. We are going to work on getting to TX as soon as possible!
This year at the last minute we decided to go to Boston for NYE with Joe and AJ - two guys that work with Z on the Louisville - they are a riot. We went to a couple of bars in the Faneuil Hall/Quincy Market area and saw the fireworks over the harbor. Fun times! (see pics)
We are both back to work and our "normal" routine. Zac is still in NH with me - as his trip has been delayed for a bit. We have been getting insane amounts of snow! On New Year's Day - close to a foot. Aidan just loves romping around in it! However, the piles are truly getting so large and high that it is hard to see around corners while driving - and definitely getting too high to lift a shovel over what we have already stacked up. At my work, the piles in the parking lot are taller than 2 of my Jeeps stacked on top of one another. I heard on the radio that this was the most snow ever (recorded) in the month of December. It does make the trees really beautiful - and the road crews do a great job of clearing - but it makes me wonder how much we will get throughout the rest of the winter!
We took advantage of the fresh snow the weekend before Christmas and spent a weekend in North Conway, NH - a surprise trip from Z to me. There we skiied Mt. Cranmore. It was my first New England skiing experience. The mountains here are a lot smaller than the ones I'm used to in CO and NM, but we love living close enough to the slopes to take last minute trips to ski.
Now, the question is...when are YOU going to come and see us!?! Huh? Do it.
Love and blessings,
Rebekah and Zac
